#Repost @somelikeityum with @repostapp ・・・ I’ve mentioned how I get comments like, “if I ate like you I’d be fat,” among others. I was talking to @jronick (she's my trainer) recently who knows how I eat and she suggested I do a post on it. So for anyone interested, here it is. This is much simpler than so much out there online, and while there’s merit to getting into the nitty gritty (and I like to do that, I’m a nerd after all), I think it does a disservice to anyone just trying to get a grasp on it by making it sound like this complex science fair project. I need about 2300 calories a day just to keep my body where it is. Google “BMR Calculator” and you can approximate for yourself, then add 200-400 calories to in order to compensate for normal activity (walking, eating, etc.). Or do a body fat analysis at your gym, either way. So for me this breaks down into 5 meals a day, 400 for breakfast, 300 for snack 1, 700 for lunch, 200 for snack 2, 700 for dinner. These are rough, and I don’t count calories or weigh food. I just know certain foods and substitutes and approximate. For example: For those of you that don’t have time to make food, or just love fast food, I had @innout today. A double-double, fries and soda set you back 1300 calories, which is crazy balls. I had a double meat, ketchup instead of spread, half of an order of fries (I threw half away immediately, I have no will power) and a small coke. That right there was just over 700 calories. Perfect!!! If you need 600 calories, ditch the coke, 500, ditch the fries, or ditch both for 400 and just have the burger. Get a double meat with two extra patties for 600 calories and you’re heavy on the protein which I often do. Cheese and sauces add up, so best to avoid when possible. If you have a general idea as to how many calories are in different foods, it becomes easy to transfer this over and I’ll likely do a few more posts with other foods as well.
